The Indiana University Foundation is seeking an Investment Analyst for the Investment Department to support thoughtful portfolio stewardship through research analysis and clear reporting.
You will help manage the IU Foundations Pooled Long-Term Fund and participate in every stage of the investment process including due diligence data analysis and preparation of materials for internal and external this role you will monitor managers across public and private markets contribute research on new strategies collaborate with accounting custodians consultants and investment managers and join introductory meetings with firms.
Day to day you will build presentations on asset classes liquidity and market topics maintain quarterly summaries in the research management system coordinate and document manager meetings and onsite visits support the annual audit with timely data and review monthly pricing reports. As you progress you will take primary coverage for a subset of managers lead onsite diligence assist with manager searches from outreach through evaluation and help source new opportunities that strengthen the portfolio creating a path toward increasing autonomy and future leadership.
You will gain broad hands-on exposure to a $4 billion endowment across public and private asset classes learn from experienced mentors who prioritize teaching and build the judgment and ownership needed to advance in your career.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree required preference for finance economics business or a related field.
- 2 or more years of investment experience at an endowment pension OCIO or consultant or wealth manager preferred.
- Enrolled CFA candidates preferred. If not already enrolled it is an expectation that you will enroll in the CFA program upon being hired and that you will complete the program during your tenure at the IU Foundation. IUF will support your continuing education by funding course and certification materials.
- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint required
- Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools preferred.
- Experience with investment analytics or portfolio reporting platforms such as MSCI Total Plan or a research management system preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong grasp of investment concepts including portfolio construction asset allocation liquidity and risk management across public and private markets.
- Proficiency analyzing manager materials and financial statements with the ability to evaluate fund performance and valuation metrics accurately.
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills comfort building dashboards custom reports and ad hoc analyses for surveys and peers.
- Tech-forward mindset with interest in learning new tools including reporting systems data visualization and AI platforms and willingness to become a subject-matter expert in key platforms.
- Clear and concise communicator with strong writing and presentation skills for internal and external audiences including Investment Committee materials.
- Organized self-starter who manages multiple priorities independently while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
- Collaborative teammate with sound judgment professionalism and discretion.
- High ethical standards intellectual curiosity proactive problem solving and a growth mindset.
Additional Information :
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after a successful on-site onboarding period. The hybrid work schedule includes a bank of 60 days/year to be used as remote days on Tuesdays or Thursdays only. This position is located in our Indianapolis Indiana office.
We anticipate that this position will involve traveling up to 30% of the time to participate in conferences manager onsite visits and investment meetings with the team.
