Job Summary

Overview

The Tool & Die Maker (3rd Shift) is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by constructing repairing and maintaining tools dies and other precision components used in production. This hands-on role requires strong machining skills attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret blueprints to ensure all parts meet exacting specifications. The position also contributes to maintaining a safe clean and efficient work environment in alignment with established production and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct maintain and repair tools dies and related components for manufacturing operations.

  • Perform precise machining operations such as milling grinding and turning using manual equipment.

  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to fabricate tooling components with accuracy.

  • Measure and inspect parts using precision instruments such as micrometers calipers and gauges.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing tooling issues to minimize production downtime.

  • Collaborate with production teams and support personnel to ensure optimal operation of tooling systems.

  • Maintain compliance with all safety standards quality procedures and environmental regulations.

  • Participate in training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and machining proficiency.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience machining and constructing tooling to drawing specifications.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience reading and interpreting blueprint drawings.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating manual lathes mills grinders and related machining tools.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with various tool steels (D2 A2 and copper).

  • Must reside within 50 miles of Washington Pennsylvania (no relocation provided).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in Tool and Machining or 2 years of experience as a die maker.

  • Experience building die tooling for stamping/manufacturing processes.

  • Welding experience (TIG/MIG).

  • Familiarity with steel heat-treating processes.
