The Opportunity

The Registration & Scheduling Clerk is responsible for the timely registration and processing of patients and families with appointments within the IWK Health Centre. The Registration & Scheduling clerk interacts with colleagues patients families students and partners in a respectful and collaborative manner in keeping with principles of family centered care and Health Centre standards to meet the needs of our patients and their families.

This role will be supporting the roll out of One Person One Record (OPOR) through the manual migration of appointments referrals and waitlists from legacy scheduling systems into the new OH CIS system.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday evenings and weekends.
7-hour shifts (4-hour shifts may also be available)

Your Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of a recognized business/secretarial program an asset
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology (testing may be conducted on candidates).
Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset.
Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required. Testing may be conducted on short-listed candidates and results will be factored into the candidates overall suitability for this position.
Demonstrated organizational analytical time management interpersonal and communication skills required.
Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred.
