Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Technical:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and relevant documentation.

  • Set up and safely use trench boxes drag boxes and manhole boxes.

  • Operate pipe lasers accurately for line and level.

  • Lay concrete clay and plastic pipes of all sizes ensuring correct bedding surround and testing procedures.

• Drainage & Groundwater Management:

  • Manage groundwater effectively including setting up and operating appropriately sized pumps.

  • Ensure correct trench backfilling procedures are followed.

  • Construct and bench manholes to specification.

• Site Safety & Coordination:

  • Work safely around live services using service avoidance techniques.

  • Carry out daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on plant and equipment.

  • Communicate maintenance or service requirements promptly to the site management team.

• External Works Experience (Desirable):

  • Kerbing edging slab laying and block paving.

  • Sound understanding of materials and methods for underground drainage road formation and hard/soft landscaping.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• 510 years experience in skilled groundworks with a strong focus on deep drainage.

• Additional CPCS/NPORS* tickets Telehandlers Dumpers Rollers.

• Experienced working gangs or teams are highly sought after.
