Job & Division Summary:

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for supporting product design and development of assemblies sub-assemblies Bills of Material and components for Engineered-to-Order(ETO) products using Solid Works AutoCAD and drawing management software

Work in collaboration with Application Engineers Operations and Sales to provide designs per customers request.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform design assignments for simple to complex items using design standards and tools product knowledge design expertise creativity and resourcefulness for new engineered orders.
• Prepare product design layouts engineering drawings and other technical documentation in collaboration with Product or Application Engineers.
• Ensure that designs use current manufacturing assembly and installation practices that result in a producible product.
• Quickly become one of the technical experts on the YZ product line.
• Communicate with sales team as necessary to obtain information to prepare drawings and related documentation.
• Write and processes Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as required.
• Develop and maintain product structure and multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) using Milton Roys engineering standards and ERP systems.
• Assist Sustaining Engineers with product issues and support New Product Development for the YZ product line.
• Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the Documentation Management System
• Participate in departmental or cross-functional teams toward the achievement of corporate strategic goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience required with three (3) plus years experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing machining and fabrication environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Three (3) plus years of experience preferred
