About the Team
The Pipeline and Gas Networks (P&GN) team within the Energy Infrastructure branch of the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is a unique team that is at the forefront of the gas and future fuels space in NSW including providing a significant safety and technical regulation role and key subject matter expertise across multiple gas related programs and policy areas of DCCEEW and ensuring that safety and technical risks are appropriately managed.
The P&GN team has several core primary functions including.
The team works directly with energy network operators Standards Australia research organisations Australian Pipelines and Gas Association and other NSW and jurisdictional regulators. Our focus is on influencing energy infrastructure operators to manage their assets in a manner that prioritise public safety and energy security.
About The Role
The P&GN team is currently seeking to appoint a Manager Licensing & Compliance to oversee the strategic and operational administration of the licensing function under the Pipelines Act 1967 ensuring effective compliance processes. This role is responsible for developing implementing monitoring and continuously improving licensing and compliance frameworks to uphold regulatory standards.
The role will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver licensing administration and compliance functions under the Pipelines Act 1967.
This role provides strategic direction drives innovative approaches and ensures alignment with government priorities through effective governance and resource management. Key responsibilities include providing direction on licensing administration and compliance functions advising on regulatory and compliance matters analysing policy impacts developing monitoring and evaluation strategies preparing high-level briefings and correspondence and engaging stakeholders to inform sound policy decisions and solutions.
About You
You will bring comprehensive knowledge of decision-making processes regulatory and compliance frameworks within a government or a highly regulated environment ideally with a deep understanding of the energy infrastructure industrys policy environment and emerging risks.
With proven experience leading licensing compliance and enforcement programs you offer authoritative strategic and regulatory advice with the ability to design and implement licencing and compliance frameworks to enhance process effectiveness. Your expertise spans organisational governance Cabinet and Ministerial processes and their influence on policy outcomes. Youre also an accomplished team leader skilled in guiding and developing staff to deliver complex projects and achieve program objectives.
