Our client an EU-licensed Payment Services and E-Money Institution provides innovative technology-driven financial services for both consumer and corporate clients. They are seeking a Finance Operations & Reconciliations Officer to join their team in Malta.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy compliance and efficiency in daily financial operations reconciliation processes and transactional activities.
Tasks
- Perform daily weekly and monthly reconciliations across banking acquiring and other partner transactions.
- Monitor customer funds and safeguarded accounts on a daily basis.
- Assist with the management of treasury balances including prefunded accounts with partners.
- Support daily transactional processing within the finance team.
- Contribute to monthly management reporting financial reporting and preparation of external reports.
- Support regulatory reporting to authorities such as the MFSA and Central Bank of Malta.
- Maintain and update the Financial Operations Manual and related procedures.
- Assist with audit requests and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Provide financial support to non-finance teams to improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports as requested by the Head of Finance and senior management.
Requirements
- 2-4 years experience in a similar role within financial services ideally in an EMI.
- Higher Education Qualification in Accountancy or equivalent; final stages of ACCA also considered.
- Strong English communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Desirable: experience with card acquiring/processing and understanding of different payment methods (Cards APMs etc.).
