Job Summary

As a Merchandiser you will play a key role in the apparel industry as the central point of contact between customers suppliers and internal teams. You will manage the entire process from product development and costing to order execution and customer delivery.

This role bridges the gap between buyers and manufacturers. You will collaborate with Design Technical Production and Sourcing teams to ensure that every order meets the agreed timelines budgets and quality standards. You will also analyze data and trends to guide planning forecasting and procurement decisions to drive efficiency and commercial success.

What will be your key accountabilities (outcomes you will drive)


  • Act as the main point of contact for customers ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Work with multiple suppliers to ensure a responsive and compliant procurement process.
  • Negotiate costings and commercial terms to secure the best outcomes for the organization.
  • Coordinate with factories to execute contracts according to agreed timelines and delivery schedules.
  • Manage the production critical path to maintain a high on-time delivery rate for Planned Cut Dates (PCD) and Planned End Dates (PED).
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices product trends and market requirements.
  • Analyze seasonal trade performance identify risks or opportunities and make proactive recommendations.
  • Create accurate material and production forecasts for both short and long-term needs.
  • Ensure procurement requirements sales targets and budgets are aligned through regular data review and stock optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product quality efficiency and profitability targets.


Requirements

  • Previous work experience as a Merchandiser or in a similar role within a reputed apparel organization preferably handling UK/EU customers.
  • Knowledge of ladieswear and woven products would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong commercial and analytical mindset with good negotiation skills.
  • Organized methodical and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to work with formulas and analyze large datasets.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or order management systems.
  • Good numerical and data interpretation skills with the ability to prepare reports and business insights.
  • Strong teamwork and coordination skills across departments and external stakeholders.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Business Fashion Merchandising or a related discipline.

Required Education:

Bachelors in Fashion Merchandising Textile/Apparel Business or Supply Chain; or Diploma with 2 to 3 years experience; professional qualifications such as CIM CIPS or SLIM are an advantage; strong Excel and ERP literacy; good English proficiency.
