Job Summary
STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Transportation team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside our experienced team learn and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months.
Responsibilities:
Assist in HVAC designs calculations and reports for various building projects.
Participate in equipment selection and specification writing processes.
Lead projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance as needed.
Meet with clients to discuss project requirements and make recommendations based on their needs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural traffic and geotechnical engineers.
Plan organize and develop engineering activities for construction and maintenance projects.
Evaluate select and apply engineering techniques procedures and criteria.
Devise innovative approaches to solve engineering problems.
Prepare or modify drawings specifications calculations charts and graphs.
Monitor work to ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.
Required:
Currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.
Compensation Range:
