Job Summary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assessespotential emergency situations on the bus and within loading and unloading zones.
Assistsstudents to accommodate special needs during transportation safe loadingand unloading from buses.
Attendsmeetings to receive and convey information.
Followslaws district policies and procedures.
Instructsstudents to enforce rules/regulations and maintain safety.
Monitorsstudents (e.g. unruly disruptive abusive language etc) to preventdistraction to the driver or injury to themselves or other students/passengers.
Monitorsstudents with special needs until released to teacher instructionalassistant parent etc.
Prepares documentation (e.g. incident reports inspections student countpassenger misconduct mileage etc.)
Reportsobservations and/or incidents.
Securesstudents and/or equipment with restraints tie downs (e.g. wheelchairsseat belts etc.)
Performsother duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

HighSchool Diploma
Knowledgeof state and District transportation policy and procedures
Knowledgeof safety practices and emergency evacuation procedures as related totransportation.
Ability to consistently lift 40 pounds.
Clearanceof a pre-employment drug screening.
Clearanceof a pre-employment physical
Clearanceof Criminal Justice Fingerprint and a Background check.
CPR/FirstAid Certification.
