Position Summary & Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant youll support critical Federal documentation and knowledge management initiatives that directly impact national security emergency preparedness and operational this role you will leverage your technical writing expertise to produce clear consistent and compliant documentation across multiple project areas. To be successful youll need to excel in four key areas:

Project Support: Lead individual writing and documentation tasks in support of knowledge management standard operating procedures policy development and training materials. Ensure all deliverables meet contractual requirements follow established documentation standards and are delivered on time and within scope.

Client Relationship Management: Collaborate with client stakeholders and project teams to gather input review drafts and refine documentation. Build trusted relationships with clients by providing high-quality deliverables and offering solutions that enhance clarity usability and operational impact.

Subject-Matter Knowledge: Build expertise in technical writing practices Federal documentation standards and knowledge management frameworks. Apply this knowledge to develop effective user-centered content that supports process transparency and operational readiness.

Leadership and Culture: Contribute to a collaborative team culture by asking questions taking ownership of tasks and ensuring 360-degree feedback that is timely candid and supportive

This position is hybrid; most work is performed remotely with periodic commuting to client sites in Washington DC.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Internship or professional experience in consulting technical writing or process documentation
• Demonstrated attention to detail and document management
• Excellent communication writing and editorial skills
• Proficiency in MS 365 suite (Word Excel SharePoint Teams etc.)
• Ability to travel approximately 10-20% and commute periodically within the National Capital Region
• Ability to pass a Federal public trust background check and/or security clearance investigation

Nice-To-Have Qualifications

• Multiple years of professional experience in consulting technical writing and/or process improvement
• Experience creating and maintaining SOPs guidebooks technical manuals and policy or compliance documentation
• Familiarity with knowledge management practices and process documentation tools
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Technical Writing certification
