The role of Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead advanced micromanufacturing initiatives using laser technologies in a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on medical devices and precision components. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless process transitions from development through validation and into full-scale production while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Driving process development and optimization through innovative engineering solutions and data-driven decision-making.
Leading validation activities to ensure robust and repeatable manufacturing processes.
Managing continuous improvement projects that enhance efficiency reduce waste and improve product quality.
Collaborating cross-functionally with R&D Quality and Operations to support new product introductions and scale-up efforts.

Responsibilities

Lead handoff of processes from Lightspeed Development and Automated Solutions Engineering into Manufacturing.
Manage and execute Process Validation and Equipment Qualification activities.
Establish and maintain process ownership post-transition ensuring long-term stability and control.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean-Six Sigma methodologies such as Six Sigma tools 5S One-Piece Flow and Kaizen.
Optimize line layouts and implement cell manufacturing strategies to improve throughput and reduce waste.
Work closely with quality engineering to support customer needs and requests.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering or Physics; advanced degree preferred.
510 years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering ideally in medical device or precision component manufacturing.
Proven experience managing process/product transitions through validation and into production.
Strong project management skills with demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration.
Solid understanding of statistical analysis for equipment and process validation.
Proficient in Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement and optimization.
Highly organized hands-on and detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
Self-motivated goal-oriented and adaptable to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Laser processes and optics
Project Management Professional (PMP)
LSS Black Belt
ISO 13485:2003 ISO 9001:2008

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Requires standing walking bending and reaching throughout the workday in a manufacturing environment.
May involve working in cleanroom conditions and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.
Must be able to safely operate and interact with manufacturing equipment and tools.

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $77000.00 - 108000.00.
