Be the person theHonolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS) Water System Operations Division relies on when Automotive Branch team members need automotive parts or accessories to keep the extensive vehicle fleet well-maintained. Join our team as an Automotive Stores Clerk at Manana Corporation Yard! You must be knowledgeable and experienced in working with automotive inventory management systems and automotive parts and accessories to meet the demands of maintaining the fleet. If you have the expertise and experience with automotive parts and automotive inventory then the BWS wants you!

What Youll Do

  • Order and purchase automotive parts accessories and supplies
  • Receive store and issue automotive parts accessories and supplies
  • Perform daily inspection of automotive shop equipment tools and inventory condition
  • Perform office clerical functions including answering phone calls and assisting service customers at the check-in window
  • Take on other related duties of the position.


Special Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. from the floor to shelf
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Able to work occasional non-regular hours

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience that demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Two years of experience in the issuance and storage of automotive parts and accessories or equivalent work experience which shall have demonstrated knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.

Competencies and Skills Needed:

  • Knowledge of automotive parts and accessories including terminology and classification
  • Knowledge of common practices tools and equipment used in the repair of automotive and other motorized vehicles
  • Knowledge of purchasing and requisitioning procedures
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods of stock accounting and control
  • Ability to make arithmetical computations
  • Ability to read parts catalogs and recommend substitutions
  • Ability to inspect automotive parts and accessories to determine their operational fitness
  • Ability to operate and maintain common office machines and equipment
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Valid appropriate drivers license (automobile/Type 3) as required.
