Southeast Delco School District seeks a strategic metrics-driven Director of Development & Grants to lead fundraising strategy cultivate community and corporate partnerships manage the districts grants portfolio (federal state and private) and advance resources that directly support student learning and district priorities. The ideal candidate blends relationship-building with rigorous compliance data discipline and strong project management.
Fundraising Strategy: Design and execute a comprehensive annual development plan (annual giving major gifts corporate sponsorships events and foundation support) aligned to the districts strategic plan.
Pipeline & Portfolio Management: Build and manage a portfolio of prospects; conduct research qualify solicit and steward individual corporate and foundation donors.
Grants Leadership: Identify opportunities lead cross-functional grant development write proposals prepare budgets route for approvals submit on time and coordinate post-award management.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to federal state and local regulations; maintain accurate records; produce required narrative and financial reports on schedule.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance Academics Student Services and School Leaders to scope needs align budgets track outcomes and communicate impact.
Data & CRM: Maintain donor and grant records in a CRM; create dashboards KPIs and stewardship calendars to track progress and forecast revenue.
Communications & Stewardship: Draft cases for support impact stories acknowledgments and campaign materials; plan recognition and cultivation events.
Board & Community Engagement: Prepare updates and presentations for the Superintendent Board and advisory groups; represent the district with funders and community partners.
Risk & Audit Readiness: Support audit requests; maintain documentation (agreements MOUs compliance artifacts drawdowns match tracking).
Team & Vendor Oversight: Lead small internal teams and contractors (writers designers event vendors) as needed; manage development and grants budgets.
Bachelors degree in Nonprofit Management Public Administration Business Communications Education or related field.
5 years progressive experience in development and/or grants management including successful proposal writing and donor stewardship.
Demonstrated knowledge of grant budgeting post-award compliance and reporting (e.g. federal/state education grants).
Proficiency with a donor/grants CRM (e.g. Bloomerang Little Green Light Salesforce Foundant eCivis) and MS Excel/Google Sheets.
Strong writing editing presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
Familiarity with education-sector programs (Title I/II/III/IV IDEA 21st CCLC) and Pennsylvania requirements.
Experience coordinating with Finance on restricted funds reimbursements and drawdowns.
