WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
As an IRL Technician you will work in our Immunohematology Reference lab and perform basic donor testing and or patient tests and interpret results; may provide basic reference and consultation services to hospitals; may perform automated and manual test procedures on blood samples.

Key Responsibilities:
May perform telephone consultation including receiving and completing orders for antigen negative products.
Perform duties associated with receipt coordination shipment and transport of patient and donor blood samples. Perform duties associated with supply and reagent management to include ordering receiving inspection preparation and quality control of supplies and reagents.
Maintain equipmentreagentsand otherstocktoensurethe quality and accuracy of laboratory test procedures.
May perform and interpret basic donor and/or patient testing procedures
Recognize testing irregularitiesidentifythe causedeterminethesolutionand resolve theproblemorreferit to theappropriate level.
Maintaineditand review computer and manual records toassureaccuraterecord keeping.
Maintainaccuratelegibleand complete records.
Perform other relateddutiesas necessary.
Standard Schedule:2nd Shift 3P-11:30P
Rotating weekend shift every 4th weekend.
Pay Information: $22.60-$30.14 (Depending on experience)
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelors degree in Biological Science or Chemistry.
1 year of blood banking/Lab experience. AS in Clinical Lab Science acceptable.
Minimum MLT (ASCP) certification.
Licensure if required by state
Good written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Basic understanding of basic computer applications including Word. Ability to work on a team.

Physical Requirements:
Requires standing stretchingstoopingand bending for extended time periods. Lift pullpushand move objects of up to 50 pounds. May work in walk-inrefrigerator/freezersfor periods of time. Required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats gloves face shields etc. Ability to use a wide variety of lab or medical equipment.
