BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) conducts inspections and investigations into allegations of misconduct to uphold integrity accountability and transparency within WFP operations.
In 2025 OIGI began integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation technologies into its investigative and forensic processes to improve the efficiency of evidence analysis data ingestion and case management.
To support this initiative OIGI is engaging volunteers to assist the AI Integration Interns in research data preparation testing and documentation related to the development of AI tools transcription automation and forensic workflow optimization.
This voluntary role provides an opportunity to contribute to an innovative UN-led digital transformation initiative in oversight and investigations.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in collecting organizing and cleaning datasets used for AI and automation model testing.
Support the preparation of research materials documentation and evidence mapping for digital forensic projects.
Conduct basic quality assurance checks on automated transcripts structured data outputs and dashboards.
Help in testing Power Automate workflows and verifying Azure service integrations.
Contribute to drafting summaries guides and user documentation for AI-assisted forensic tools.
Maintain records of tasks testing logs and project deliverables for internal reporting.
Support coordination between interns and WFP focal points ensuring timely updates and collaboration.
Perform any other tasks supporting the digital forensics and AI integration team as required.

Improved efficiency and accuracy in data preparation and testing for AI-powered forensic workflows.
Well-organized documentation and testing records supporting the ongoing AI integration project.
Enhanced collaboration between interns technical experts and OIGI investigators.
Volunteers gain exposure to digital transformation and integrity assurance processes in a real-world humanitarian context.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate program in Computer Science AI Information Systems Data Science Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Knowledge & Skills:
Good analytical and organizational skills.
Familiarity with AI Microsoft Power Automate Excel or data management tools is an advantage.
Interest in AI applications investigations and humanitarian work.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Languages: Fluency in English required. Knowledge of another UN language (French Spanish Arabic or others) is an asset.
