Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a Step-Down Unit assignment in Cleveland Ohio. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality care to post-operative vascular surgery patients requiring close cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring. This position offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for professional growth in a leading healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-operative vascular surgery patients in a step-down/telemetry setting.
Manage IV fluids blood products and electrolyte replacements per established protocols and physician orders.
Maintain accurate intake and output documentation while monitoring renal function and hemodynamic stability.
Perform detailed peripheral vascular checks Doppler evaluations and neurovascular assessments to assess graft and limb perfusion.
Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians respiratory and physical therapists and case managers to optimize patient recovery.
Care for patients recovering from bypass grafts endarterectomies amputations and stent placements.
Perform sterile wound care dressing changes and manage negative pressure wound therapy (wound vacs).
Maintain compliance with all infection control policies hospital standards and documentation protocols.
Schedule
Day/Night rotating shifts: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Facility will make every effort to honor shift preference but reserves the right to rotate based on operational needs.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 18 months of permanent Step-Down or Cardiac Step-Down experience required (travel experience accepted).
Progressive Care (PCU) experience preferred but not required.
Licensure: Active Ohio RN License or Compact License (must be in hand prior to start).
Certifications:
BLS AHA
ACLS AHA
NIHSS
