Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Advanced Technology & Capabilities (ATC) Engineering seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Disruptive Systems Technology Team. Our cross-discipline team solves defense customers toughest problems through rapidly developing integrating and demonstrating systems that employ cutting-edge signal processing and networking innovations. ATC focuses on cutting-edge Department of Defense research and development an ATC engineer you will continually advance the state of the art through the creation of innovative system concepts and technological capabilities. As concepts / capabilities are proven matured and demonstrated you will collaborate with business unit engineers in the adoption and transition of technologies into the next generation of Collins Aerospace products and services.

Within a group of highly innovative engineers this role provides leadership over low TRL (Technology Readiness Level <6) programs to ensure all the key performance characteristics are consistently met and that valuable IP is captured and protected as part of the Invention Disclosure process. The effectivecandidate will have experience both capturing pursuits and bringing the programs vision to reality including technical leadership and role is onsite in Cedar Rapids IA. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

• You will assist in design and development of innovative solutions for communication navigation radar and electronic warfare applications.
• You will collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering
• You will collaborate closely across multi-disciplinary teams to rapidly identify and implement innovative effective solutions.
• You will contribute to technical presentations that articulate design approaches and their relevance to project objectives.

What You Will Learn:

• You will become familiar with the specific technologies design and modeling languages and tools used within the aerospace and defense industry.
• You will develop skills in working within interdisciplinary teams communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and presenting their work.
• You will gain an understanding of the products and systems developed by Collins Aerospace and the Disruptive Technologies Team.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a Bachelors degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with Digital Signal Processing FPGAs embedded processors communications and radar systems.
• Familiar with design and simulation tools such as Matlab and Simulink.
• Familiar with algorithm development simulation and implementation using tools such as VHDL Python and C/C.
• Familiar with embedded systems and software/hardware integration and in software development test and deployment in languages such as Python and C/C.
• Familiar with Object Oriented Design/Development and multithreading and with Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning concepts.

The salary range for this role is 55000 USD - 107000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
