Job Summary

About the Role:

Due to company growth we are looking to appoint a Drainage Assistant to join our Chester Depot. Working as part of a two person teams you will be responsible for attending drainage related issues such as blockages pipe clearing cleansing and reactive call outs.


  • Location: Chester
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
  • Salary: 25 550.07 - 31 139 (inclusive of overtime)
  • Weekly pay

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery
  • Ensure all H&S requirements are followed
  • Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns.
  • Assist in identifying drainage issues including blockages structural defects infiltration and root ingress.
  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains sewers and pipework.
  • Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.
  • Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
  • Assist in emergency response situations including flooding and urgent drainage issues.
  • Learn to complete job sheets risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) under supervision.


Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 penalty points)
  • A strong interest in drainage utilities or civil engineering
  • A practical hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills and a desire to learn new software


Lanes Group will provide all training required for the role such as high-pressure water jetting confined space spill response etc.
