ABOUT THE ROLE
Port Analysis teams primary objective is to disrupt & democratise how port expenses are logged automate the process by generating Expenses algorithms for new Ports and keep existing Port Expenses algorithms up to date. Therefore Port Analysis is the cornerstone of our Core Product.
As a member of the Port Analysis team you will take on some of our biggest challenges and your work will impact the entire Harbor Lab experience. Our team moves very fast so youll have the opportunity to make an immediate difference!

Our Port Analysis team is growing and we are looking for a Port Analysis Trainee for a 3-month internship. Upon successful completion of the internship candidates will be considered and interviewed for a permanent employment contract.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Liaise between Agents and Vendors worldwide to gather information about port infrastructure port expenses and tariff regulations
- Understand expenses/tariffs taxonomy per port
- Automate expenses estimation by developing the right and effective algorithmsusing JavaScript
- Audit existing expenses algorithms & keep port expenses database up to date
- Work closely with Harbor Labs Product and Disbursement Analysis teams
RequirementsWE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Educational background in Shipping Economics Mathematics Statistics Physics or other quantitative discipline/equivalent experience
- Interest in Shipping industry
- Detailed-oriented mindset & critical thinking
- Effective organizational skills to deliver on time and in full
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively cooperate with team members and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel
- Some basic exposure to SQL Python or another programming language is considered a plus
- Ability to work well with datasets and/or some experience with exploratory data analysis
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English (additional languages will be an asset)
- Fulfilled military obligations (where applicable)
