Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Supervises the organization training and daily work activities of assessment classification caseworkers.
- Plans and schedules job duties and monitors caseloads to ensure an equitable workload distribution.
- Ensures inmate assessments are completed and entered accurately into the automated system for all incoming R&E inmates.
- Conducts monthly training with caseworkers and serves on classification committees as needed.
- Ensures inmates are classified and assigned to an appropriate institution in accordance with SCDC policies and procedures.
- Responds to inmate requests for information and responds to inquiries from department officials and other agencies.
- Prepares and submits monthly reports and advises the R&E Manager on all classification matters.
- Serves as the central point of contact regarding assessment classification issues.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelors degree and related experience.SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources.)
Bachelors degree and one (1) year of inmate classification experience.
OR
An associate degree and two (2) years of inmate classification experience.
OR
A high school diploma and four (4) years of inmate classification experience.
