Engineering Manager
Position Summary
The Engineering Manager ensures optimal efficiency is achieved through project planning program management and succession planning. They strive for uninterrupted production schedules while strongly adhering to maintenance standards. This position works closely with plant leaders and requires demonstration and competency of plant safety legal/labor compliance and/or food quality standards. The Engineering Manager leverages internal and external resources to provide insightful and innovative solutions to all items that impede efficiency production and/or departmental morale. This role is also responsible for contributing to and fostering the professional development aptitude and technical expertise/performance of all members of the industrial maintenance department.

Manage superintendents and projects: small-scale maintenance project planning and down day planning with superintendents
Manage Capital Expenditure (CapEx) program and Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) annual planning and forecasting while teaching superintendents
Manage employee development and succession planning
Utilize SAP to review and approve breakdown reports overtime reports and purchase orders. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of inventory variances
Review spare parts stock levels
Attend operations and vendor meetings and coordinate planning
Oversee financial review and reporting monitoring and reporting on Profit & Loss (P&L) reports for maintenance spending
Conduct floor walks with superintendents for department-work verification
Manage equipment trends: parts usage breakdown frequencies and top cost contributors
Conduct critical equipment inspection work verification
Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) program assessments and modify based on trending plant needs and/or changes
Demonstrate innovative critical and strategic thinking
Practice and comply with all policies and procedures (EEO Harassment Safety Sarbanes Oxley etc.)
Perform other duties deemed integral to the job including fulfillment of work schedules adherence to attendance policies and other applicable operating rules policies and procedures
Possess or attain licenses required by municipal county or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers refrigeration components and various other job-related equipment
License
Licenses as required by state industry city or county (boiler refrigeration etc.)
May be required to possess/maintain a valid license to operate heavy equipment including forklift
Mobility
Physically capable of rapid unimpeded movement throughout all areas
Able to climb fixed and portable ladders crawl under and climb onto machinery and equipment and enter/exit confined spaces
Ability to lift and hold up to 50 pounds from floor level to 48 inches
Sufficient dexterity in fingers arms and hands to perform complex wiring welding and written communication
Sensory
Ability to view products for proper size and color
Ability to distinguish color-coded equipment
Vision enough to distinguish operating lights and panels on machinery and equipment
Must be able to hear and identify audible alarm systems and normal vs. abnormal equipment operating sounds
Must be able to work in a 100-degree environment
Communication
Ability to generate written communication
Ability to read and review written communication
Speech and hearing abilities that allow clear communication in English (in person or via telephone) and/or other required languages
Ability to read schematics blueprints and mechanical drawings
Ability to read and understand technical instructions on machine care and maintenance
Attendance
Ability to come to work on a regular and consistent basis

Ability to read comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures and signs
Ability to wear and use approved applicable safety equipment as needed
15-20 years of proven leadership or supervisory experience preferably in industrial operations or a related field
Strong knowledge of project management quality assurance and employee development
Knowledge of industrial machinery and preventive maintenance is a plus
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field desired
High school diploma or equivalent required
