Position: System Development Engineer II
Location: New York NY
Multiple Positions Available:
Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient. Respond to large scale events involving these fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures. Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers. Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization. Propose drive and implement technical solutions for automation efficiency and scalability. Partner with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL) using Window Linux or Unix based operating systems and SQL Server databases. Provide support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.
(40 hours / week 8:00am-5:00pm Salary Range $142300 - $192400)

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Statistics Mathematics or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered or as a Systems Administrator or a related occupation. Employer will accept three years of experience in the job offered or related as equivalent to the Bachelors degree and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): supporting large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded distributed software applications tools systems and services; designing and implementing platforms to deliver provisioning using shell scripting; experience with programming languages including SQL PowerShell Perl Bash Python PHP or Ruby; supporting and maintaining database servers including MySQL Oracle or equivalent database; and troubleshooting systemic problems in a Windows Linux or Unix based environment.
The base pay range for this position in New York City is USD $142300 - $192400 (yr). Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial or other benefits dependent on the position offered.
