The Opportunity
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical role in shaping the financial health and sustainability of The Arc Minnesota. As a collaborative member of the executive team the CFO provides strategic financial leadership oversees all fiscal operations and ensures that our resources are aligned with our mission and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all accounting budgeting and reporting functions ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP).
- Develop financial strategies that support program growth and mission impact.
- Oversee grants management audit coordination and risk management.
- Provide clear accessible financial reporting to the CEO Board of Directors and program leaders.
- Support resource development through strategic planning and stewardship of restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Build and lead a strong inclusive finance team.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure data-driven decision making and sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field required.
- CPA CMA or MBA preferred.
- 7 years of finance or accounting experience including at least 3 years in a nonprofit organization.
- 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit finance grants management and compliance.
- Strong collaboration communication and systems-thinking skills.
- The employee must reside in the State of Minnesota or in a bordering county of a neighboring state (Wisconsin Iowa North Dakota or South Dakota).
