Join our Grid & Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) team in Raleigh North Carolina where were expanding our capabilities in FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) technology. FACTS enables utilities to boost grid capacity and stability without the need for costly infrastructure expansion.
This is your chance to work on cutting-edge power electronics and simulation platforms that help utilities deliver reliable electricity to millions. Youll collaborate with global experts dive deep into power system dynamics and contribute to projects that make a real-world impactfrom reducing blackouts to integrating renewable energy sources.
How Youll Make an Impact
At Hitachi Energy we believe in powering good. Our mission is to make energy accessible reliable and sustainable for all. As part of the GPQS team youll help deliver FACTS solutions that enhance grid performance and stability across North America.
Perform power system studies using simulation tools like PSCAD RTDS and PSSE.
Analyze FACTS plant behavior under various grid conditions and disturbances.
Tune advanced controllers for optimal system performance.
Investigate failures and assess sub-synchronous interactions and geomagnetic effects.
Translate technical findings into clear reports and presentations for customers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering R&D and project management.
Participate in customer meetings and interpret technical specifications.
Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the global FACTS community.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.
Your Background
Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in power systems and control system analysis.
Proficiency in simulation tools such as PSCAD RTDS PSSE.
Strong understanding of high-power converters and control systems.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills in English.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
