This is an in-person position in Amherst NY offering the opportunity to work with diverse industries while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and service.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for the organization overseeing benefits administration employee relations onboarding/offboarding and policy implementation.
  • Oversee and support a small payroll team that manages payroll services for external clients ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Process the companys internal payroll through ADP and act as the point person for escalated payroll issues.
  • Handle employee relations issues conflict resolution and disciplinary matters with discretion and emotional intelligence.
  • Maintain compliance with local state and federal employment laws.
  • Assist with HR projects such as handbook updates compliance reviews and performance management initiatives.
  • Administer disability Paid Family Leave and workers compensation programs.
  • Submit company 401(k) contributions and coordinate annual filings or audits as needed.
  • Partner closely with leadership to maintain a professional collaborative and supportive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressive HR and payroll experience with supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll laws HR compliance and best practices.
  • Proficiency in ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Professional office environment experience required.
  • Excellent communication organization and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and professionalism in handling sensitive situations.
