Job Summary

Overview: Performs testing and quality control procedures as a generalist in all operational departments relevant to the site and shift of hire. Operates instrumentation prepares reagents and reports results according to established policies and procedures. Performs all testing under the supervision of a Laboratory Department Manager Laboratory Site Manager /Supervisor or Lead Technologist. Communicates with nursing/physicians regarding patient results and assist in various projects as needed. Must be able to work independently. Specialty: Min 3 year exp. Weekend/schedule: every other Holiday: 1 per contract if needed RTO: no more than 3 days Generalist Preferred Blood Bank experience Equipment: Siemens Syntex Education & Certification: Associate of Science in laboratory science preferred. High school diploma or equivalent with 50-week military training as Medical Lab Specialist or graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program. 3 years clinical laboratory experience preferred. Certification/Licensure: ASCP NJ Licensure Knowledge & Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. First Day Instructions /Orientation: Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes. Candidate will receive an email directly from Inspira the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information; They will receive instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream Module from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation person class schedule list- Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email candidate is required to use Health Stream to determine class location day of. Please Note *The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week. Unit based orientation schedule from manager. Badge ID Link- instructions on how to make an appointment t o receive their ID badge in person. Photo submissions are not permitted. Must be complete during orientation.
