Job Summary

Minimum Requirements

An appropriate B-Degree or higher qualification; Relevant work experience on a senior/executive management level; Financial or Accounting experience; Understanding of Internal Controls in financial and operational processes; Understanding of the External and Internal Audit roles and process; Risk Management experience; Information Technology Governance experience; Corporate Governance experience; Understanding the provincial government predetermined objective management system; Understanding the treatment of allegations and investigations; and other relevant technical or specialist experience pertinent to the issues of the departments. Display characteristics of objectivity; Honesty and integrity; No criminal record; Exposure in serving on Governing Bodies or Oversight Committees and should not serve on more than 3 Governing or Oversight Bodies at the time of appointment including Audit Committees Preference will be given to applicants whose appointment will enhance race and gender representivity in the Audit Committees; Be independent from all operations of the Western Cape Government and did not hold a position in the WCG for at least 2 years prior to application; Be a citizen of the Republic of South Africa Not be a member of a governance committee of an entity under the control of any department in a relevant cluster.

Competencies

Knowledge of the folowing: Auditing risk management finance governance ethics performance management operations information technology relevant financial reporting and legislative frameworks analytical and probing capability demonstrable knowledge of strategic and management principles and logical reasoning ability.
