Job Summary
Thusa Batho Labour Solutions invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for three (3) Temporary Asset Counter positions to support an Asset Management Unit during the mid-year and year-end asset verification cycle. The appointments are on a temporary basis for the specified contract period.
1. Physical Asset Verification
Conduct physical verification of movable and immovable assets across multiple sites
Confirm asset existence condition location and tagging
Identify missing damaged obsolete or duplicate assets
2. Updating the Asset Register
Capture and update verified asset information on the asset register
Ensure alignment between physical verification results and financial records
Identify and reconcile discrepancies
3. Depreciation & Impairment
Perform depreciation calculations in accordance with GRAP 17 (Property Plant and Equipment)
Identify impairment indicators and assist with impairment assessments
Review useful lives residual values and changes in estimates
4. Reporting
Prepare progress exception and final asset verification reports
Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and compliant
Benefits
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (PER CANDIDATE)
12 years experience in asset counting and asset register maintenance
Working knowledge of asset verification and tagging processes
Experience with depreciation and impairment calculations
Sound understanding of GRAP 17
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work across multiple sites
