Job Summary
Johnson Controls Inc. seeks Materials Manager at its facility located at 8575 Largo Lakes Blvd. Largo Florida 33773.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for ensuring the consistent economical and timely flow of both purchased and raw materials. This role involves overseeing inventory control material control purchasing and production scheduling. Will lead cost reduction efforts by monitoring logistics and mate-rial usage data manage relationships with suppliers maintain production efficiency ensure on-time delivery to meet customer demands and apply Johnson Controls Management System principles with their team. They must forecast demand and plan inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overstocking or stockouts. Work on daily production needs such as expediting material setting priorities and addressing supply issues to facilitate speedy availability of raw material and oversee transportation of finished goods ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. Manage transportation activities for both inbound and outbound freight according to approved carriers and financial policies. Work with Procurement in planning components and raw materials from approved suppliers including the management of consignment and blanket PO programs. Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Coordinate with the Supplier Quality group to set up and maintain vendor quality acceptance processes. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement and manage supply chain software and ERP systems to streamline operations. Lead inventory control and planning activities including the coordination of cycle counts Maintain Kanban systems to assure the flow of materials to the manufacturing floor and manage consignment programs with suppliers. Develop and monitor the master production schedule to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Prepare and submit reports on supply chain performance and improvements. Maintain KPIs in accordance with established targets while maintaining quality at the lowest possible cost. Train and mentor employees ensuring adherence to safety guidelines. Maintain KPIs in accordance with JCI established targets while maintaining quality at the lowest possible cost. No Telecommuting Allowed. Travel: 20% domestic and international travel required. Will supervise 9 direct reports.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Logistics Engineering or a related field. Plus Five (5) years of experience as a Buyer Production Scheduler Inventory Controller or related occupation in a manufacturing environment. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing; (2) Analyzing and interpreting technical procedures and engineering drawings; (3) Writing Reports procedures and standard work documents for materials and logistic functions; (4) Utilizing ERP systems and the interworking of Planning scheduling and Purchasing within ERP system; (5) Utilizing 8-D method and Kepner Tregoe for complex problem solving; and (6) Experience with Plan for Every Part facility.
