Department of Education Teacher License certified in special education;Masters Degree required;Leadership skills;Must be familiar with Dept. of Education regulations;Must be familiar with middle school curriculum;Must be familiar with middle school providers and all services offered;Knowledge about age appropriate developmental milestones for middle school students;Experience facilitating team meetings;At least three years public school experience;Computer literate;Team player with strong consensus building skills;Ability to adhere to required timelinesAbility to administer and interpret diagnostic instrumentsCPI restraint certifiedDuties:Chair/facilitate Initial Annual and Re-evaluation Team Meeting;Coordinate IEPs progress reports evaluations and ESY as applicable;Work with Transportation Director regarding special transportation;Attend transition meetings with elementary/middle school staff;Participate in program development;Evaluate students and programs;Schedule and group students;Assist with grouping and implementation of accommodations for MCAS testing;Assist with Special Education Budget for designated school/schools;Make recommendations for placement of Behavior Assistants and Teaching Assistants;Resource to parents and administration;Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education
