Job Purpose: Provide visibility of Smart performance through reports and analyses and protect Smart assets through implementation of internal controls.

Role Profile: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all management and cost reports and assist in the preparation of budget and forecast. Monitor the Smart performance and alert Management to financial issues and of pricing models Business Cases and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Account Reconciliation
   

• Prepare reconciliation in accordance with defined procedures and tools.
  
• Identify Issues and reconcile accounts.
  
• Provide supporting documentation & approval for entry.
  
• Resolve reconciliation issues.
  

• Prepare and issue requests for set ups amendments transfers disposals/retirement/divestment and gain approval.
  
• Significant assets are assigned asset number and tagged per Fixed Asset Policy
  
• Validate transaction request.
  
• Execute transaction in fixed assets system/register.
  
• Process accounting entries resulting from asset movements (Intercompany transfer WIP Disposals etc.)
  
• Process Capitalized Interest and Asset Impairment entries.
  
• Perform period end accounting including depreciation and accruals.
  

• Load payments into bank payment portal.
  
• Receive/ downloaded statement from Bank and process daily bank uploads.
  
• Post all bank transactions: incoming and outgoing including interests and bank charges manual payment rejected payments act.
  
• Reconcile cash & bank balances and transactions on a daily weekly and monthly basis as for reconciliation policy.
  

• Prepare Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  
• Self-assessment done on the process level as for agreed sample testing and timing based on Internal Control framework timetable.
  
• Report self-assessment result.
  
• Define actions to close control gaps and report action in internal control framework for process in scope.
  
• Tax/ External and Internal Audit - Provide input (calculations reconciliations) as per request.
  

• Provide input for Budget & Forecast (reports/analysis - 1st level of commentaries)
  
• Finalize input for Budget & Forecast (reports/analysis - 2nd level)
  
• Upload Budget & Forecast to SageX3
  

• Provide accrued sales.
  
• Post upon approval by Finance Manager.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Holder of a bachelors degree in finance or related field.
  
• Professional qualifications: CPA /ACCA/CA
  
• 4 years of progressive experience in management accounting.
  
• General Ledger accountability
  
• Hands on use of an ERP preferably Sage X3
  
• Stakeholder engagement
  
• Basic understanding of GAAPs & IFRS Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  
• Excellent report writing skills.
