Position: Senior Analyst - Server Support
Salary Range : Band 6- $46.43 per hour to $55.37 per hour 4% vacation pay
Location: Business Services/Continuing Education J.W. Singleton Education Centre
Work Schedule: 35 hours/week 12 months/year
Effective Date: As soon as possible to August 31 2026
Position Summary:
The Senior Analyst - Server Support position is responsible for the creation of board standards for the installation maintenance support backups and security for the Board server environment (Central/Corporate School Servers Physical and Cloud). Provides oversight on status of the Board server environment and security ensuring standards are met or exceeded. Working with the Analyst - Server Support group to improve and enhance standards documentation and inform Board Information Technology strategic direction and budget as it relates to lifecycle management of board technology - Enterprise application and hardware. Responsible for the implementation and management of security information and event management and ongoing improvement. Leads incident response teams to resolve and improve practice. The Senior Analyst - Server Support provides guidance training and mentorship to other Information Services Roles and Board staff. Where possible the tasks are performed within standard working hours however there are tasks planned and unplanned that need to be performed outside of working hours to minimize system impact. Where possible these will be scheduled.
Key Responsibilities:
Development of standards for the installation monitoring and maintenance of the Board server environments on-prem and cloud based infrastructure training and mentoring the Analyst - Server Support role in the operationalization of the standards
Responsible for defining and training the Analyst - Server Support on the operational patch management of Board infrastructure and enterprise applications.
Developing procedures playbooks and protocols to respond to zero day critical items. Building recommendations to improve process and identify risks to the Board
Responsible for continuously monitoring Board environments - on-prem and Cloud systems (SaaS PaaS IaaS) for signs of account or system compromise provides context to alerts to understand behaviour using data from multiple tools and data sources
Creates playbooks for various event threat and breach actions. Continuously test playbooks and provide continuous improvement to process and reporting.
Use specialized tools to monitor infrastructure and software environments onprem/cloud network
Responsible for the implementation and configuration of backup disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Responsible for ensuring backups of all Servers software and data on-prem and cloud are successful. Identifying enhancements and change to standards required to continually improve processes
Develop plans and standards to initiate if backup is unsuccessful including communication protocols
Prepare update and maintain documentation outlining board standards for board environments (hardware software) security maintenance and incident response processes
Develop standards for the board (technical and non-technical) to inform information services team members as well as end users
Train and mentor other information services team members on standards created for security monitoring and system implementations
Responsible to create project plans and lead working teams to implement board projects
Provides project status updates and clearly communicates and documents possible challenges recommendations and requirements for management to ensure successful delivery of projects
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
4 years relevant experience and 2 years experience in a security/cybersecurity related position
Cybersecurity and or Vulnerability certification from one of the following organizations: ISECOM ISC2 CC (Certified in Cybersecurity) CISA MITRE or equivalent
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification or equivalent
Google WorkSpace Level 2
Fortinet NSE4
Preferred Qualifications:
7 years relevant experience and 2 years experience in a security/cybersecurity related position.
OASBO Certificate in Information Management Privacy and Access
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert(MCSE) or Equivalent
ISC2 -SSCP CCSP Professional Security Analyst
