About the area
The Raine Study cohort is one of the longest running prospective cohorts of pregnancy childhood adolescence and adulthood to be carried out anywhere in the world. The cohort participants (approximately 5000) maintain a keen sense of commitment to the Raine Study.
Through rigorous follow-up assessments of our participants (approx. 35 years old) their parents (averaging around 65 years old) and their children (ranging from infancy to 18 years old) we have continuously gathered data from pregnancy to adulthood. This prospective longitudinal data and biological samples collected at multiple time-points from our participants is a rich resource for researchers across a wide variety of disciplines. There are currently more than 150 researchers from 14 broad areas of research utilising the Raine Study.
Within the collaborative environment of the Raine Study our mission is clear: to improve lifelong health and quality of life through ground-breaking impactful research that examines the influences pathways and outcomes from before birth and throughout lifes course.
