Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine with a focus on Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent of fellowship training in pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology is required. Candidates must be ABP certification in pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology the equivalent or status as a candidate in the examination system. Teaching responsibilities may include teaching in our formal didactic lecture program as well as the informal teaching of medical students residents fellows and other health care professionals working in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Attendance and participation in lectures presentations and conferences within the division as well as multidisciplinary conferences is expected.
Clinical responsibilities may include clinical practice in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at our Philadelphia campus of the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. this is the primary practice location.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include collaborative research and the mentoring of medical students residents and fellows in their own scholarly pursuits.
In addition to excellence in teaching and clinical care responsibilities may include investigator-initiated and collaborative research in addition to the mentoring of medical students residents and fellows in their own scholarly pursuits. The non-tenure Clinician Educator track involves a substantial commitment to research. Evidence of continuous scholarly productivity reflecting a defined focus will be required.
