The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure track) to begin in August 2026 for the 2026-2027 academic year. We are a nationally ranked program that for more than 80 years has been preparing highly qualified professionals for clinical academic and research careers addressing prevention and rehabilitation of speech language and hearing problems ( Our non-tenure track faculty are essential members of the faculty of our department and contribute to our mission by demonstrating excellence in classroom teaching.
This is a limited-term 36-week appointment for one year from date of hire. Salary will be competitive commensurate with background and experience. An attractive benefits package is available.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the position include teaching of undergraduate courses in communication sciences and disorders. Reasonable accommodations (in accordance with ADA requirements) will be made upon request to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Qualifications
This position requires:
- A masters degree or PhD in speech-language pathology or communication sciences and disorders
- A background check is required for employment in this position.
The following credential and experience is preferred:
- American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certification in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
Experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Evaluation and treatment of individuals with organic disorders
- Vocal hygiene and evaluation and treatment of the vocal mechanism.
