The Business Analyst position supports the Collections and Customer Service Department in carrying out analytics designed to measure the business performance and improve the overall decision-making process. A large part of the role is analyzing reports and developing metrics which can be used to drive the future direction of the business both internally and externally. There will be some project management required including working across all disciplines of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze business reports and trends including but not limited to revenue spending and any areas that impact Hollis Cobbs P&L
- Develop and analyze a set of relevant metrics to assist in understanding our historical business trends and look at how we may adapt our business in the future based on these metrics
- Isolate and detail specific channels and processes of our business to develop a deep understanding and look for areas of process improvement
- Lead or support the development of new business processes to adapt to our business and/or cost reduce or improve our processes
- Look at industry trends and compare our current operations to what may need to be required in the future
- Support the Operations Department by utilizing a risk management approach to solving business problems
- Lead the efforts to increase efficiency and cash flows on a consistent basis by accounting for our client cash collections and pushing for resolution of slow payer accounts
- Support the operations as needed to help them achieve their daily and/or monthly processing goals
- Prepare and present findings to Leadership on a regular basis
- Complies with Federal State and Local legal requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree preferably in Business
- 2-3 years experience in a similar position
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Access
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of office equipment including printer fax machines and copiers
- Excellent verbal written and communication skills
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand a variety of information presented in different formats from a variety of sources
- Exceptional math skills
- Presentations skills
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand or walk and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Also may be required to use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop kneel or crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
