Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our Anaesthetics Department on a full-time this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art 340-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport.

With 22 operating theatres Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including but not limited to 24/7 Emergency Care Medical Services Orthopaedics Bariatrics Neurosurgery Plastic Surgery ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) General Surgery Obstetrics Cardiac Care and Oncology.

As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:

Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management

Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based

Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment

Providing guidance mentoring and support to your team

Be accountable for the effective management of human financial and material resources

Undertaking direct patient care as required

Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum5 years experience
  • Current ALS and PALS Certificate
  • Quality Improvement projects
  • Resource management - equipment staffing succession planning
  • Sound clinical knowledge
  • Product/Equipment trial and evaluation
  • Focus on the development of our business unit working with the Doctors
  • Experience in the Acute setting/relevant to position advanced skills
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive role modelling behaviours
  • Excellent customer service focus time management and prioritisation
  • Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
  • High degree of computer literacy
