We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join our People & Corporate Services team in Abbotsford. This pivotal role will support the organisations financial operations during an exciting period of growth and development.
Youll work alongside a dedicated finance team and report to the Senior Accountant contributing to a broad range of finance functions including accounts payable/receivable payroll month-end reporting audit support and compliance.
About the Role
Working within the finance team this role will:
- Provide day-to-day support across Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Oversee payroll processes and provide backup during leave periods
- Manage month-end close processes and general journal entries
- Maintain the Fixed Assets and Prepayments Registers
- Ensure compliance with AASB standards (1058 15 and 16)
- Develop and improve financial policies procedures and internal controls
About You
Youre a qualified accounting professional with a strong technical background and youre ready to take the next step in your career within a purpose-led organisation. You will have:
- A degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CA qualification
- Proven experience in accounting ideally within a not-for-profit or community-based organisation
- A solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and regulatory reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and strong general computer literacy
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail
- Experience with finance systems (e.g. MYOB Acumatica Velixo Employment Hero) is advantageous
