Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the surgeon the Cardiovascular Surgery PA-C or APRN-RNFA will perform cardiovascular surgical preparation procedures per-operative and post-operative procedures and assists in performing cardiovascular surgical patient and family with pre-operative education answer questions regarding surgery recovery and risk factor and perform history and physical and interpret pertinent data (labs diagnostic studies discharge summaries progress notes etc.) including writing orders and assisting in cardiovascular surgery vein and radial artery harvesting first assisting with CABG valve aortic and thoracic to perform general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and patients attend rounds complete discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and appropriate of patients both pre- and post-implantation for Ventricular Assist Devices and Extracorporeal membrane of patients undergoing Trans Catheter Valve Details:Monday through FridayWeeknight on call responsibilities with rotating weekend coverageCampuses covered: AdventHealth Orlando & AdventHealth CelebrationRequired Education/Experience:Masters degree in physician assistant studies or APRNEndoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experiencePracticing experience as a cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery PA or APRN-RNFAKnowledge and Skills Required:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians staff and communication skillsStrong medical decision-making skillsLicensure Certification and Registration:Current valid Florida PA-C or APRN license or ability to obtainRNFA required for APRNAccreditation by NCCPA or other nationally recognized certification organizationsBLS and ACLS
