Job Summary
The Geriatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides advanced practice psychiatric care to older adults experiencing mental health conditions cognitive disorders and behavioral disturbances. The practitioner conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations develops and manages individualized treatment plans prescribes psychotropic medications and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and quality of :Education and Licensure:Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner(AGPCNP-BC) PreferredActive and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN)Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and license in the state of authority and DEA registration (or eligibility).Experience:Minimum 3-5 years of experience providing psychiatric care; geriatric psychiatry experience strongly in settings such as inpatient psychiatry skilled nursing assisted living or outpatient geriatric programs is highly RequiredMasters DegreeEducation PreferredMasters DegreeExperience3-5 years of Psychiatric experienceLicense and CertificationCertified Nurse Practitioner RequiredLicensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Required
