Interventionist, Highland Park Central

Reports to: Principal

Purpose: Provides remedial instruction to students who need additional instruction.

Qualifications:

• Meet requirements of a Kansas Teaching License
• Knowledge of the Common Core Standards intervention strategies assessments and intervention resources
• Ability to communicate effectively with students school personnel and parents

Physical and Emotional Requirements:Speaking hearing visual reading writing word processing mobility consistency of temperament ability to problem solve and work in stress providing environments.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver targeted instruction in a small group individual and/or classroom setting
• Deliver and use assessment results to diagnose areas of deficiency and make instructional decisions that address students weaknesses
• Use research-based strategies that meet students learning needs and support core instruction
• Coordinate planning and communicate students performance with teachers math coach principal and curriculum coordinator
• Use district-approved instructional resources which includes both primary and supplemental resources
• Monitor and maintain accurate records for reporting student progress to teachers and parents
• Assist in the assigning and scheduling of students

Terms of Employment: 9 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.

Evaluation:Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of Certified Personnel.
