Experience
5 years work experience in healthcare analysis scientific analysis data science strategic analysis market research financial planning and/or competitive analysis with a Bachelors degree required. Or 3 years of similar experience is required with a Masters Degree.

Strong critical reasoning and qualitative analysis skills; Demonstrated track record performing a variety of quantitative analyses; Demonstrated leadership and management skills (both projects and people); Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills; Demonstrated ability to learn other key software programs (e.g. Trilliant SG2 DFWHC etc.); Strong communication and presentation skills; Comfort in working in a fast paced dynamic environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously; Ability to operate independently with minimal direction; Strong teamwork skills.

Summary
The Strategy and Planning Analyst II (hereafter referred to as The Analyst) will be a key contributor to a focused highly visible team that regularly develops and executes robust analytics (quantitative and qualitative) which inform strategies and strategic objectives in support of the Texas Health Resources System and its Executive and Entity-Level Leaders as they pursue THRs Corporate Strategic Objectives.
As an active member of a close working team the Analyst will play a key role in: providing information and analyses to support strategic decision-making; undertake sophisticated due diligence perform complex and competitive analyses which include sourcing internal and external data sources including local market data analysis of competitor activities perform ad-hoc evaluations and distributing of key information as needed.
The Strategy and Planning Analyst II will provide exceptional analytical services to THR by:
Performing and communicating analyses which identify validate and refine strategies and recommendations for the THR System and/or its entities;
Acting as a thought-partner with strategy team members and other THR personnel to deliver strategic problem solving;
Interfacing with strategy team members in support of complex and multivariable problem solving analyses and information / data distribution;
Analyzing market service line and competitive information and completing periodic reporting that effectively disseminates market and competitive information in a crisp concise and timely manner
Preparing professional charts graphs maps and presentation decks in support of strategic planning activities and other ad-hoc requests as needed by the System;
Interfacing with market analytics and decision support functions that exist elsewhere within THR as necessary;
Fulfilling miscellaneous ad-hoc market data requests and other duties as assigned..
Job Duties
Act as a thought-partner for strategy team members. Help them to identify key strategic issues create a framework for analysis and develop insights that provide a data-based analytical set of strategic choices.
Manage the resources used for and workflow of gathering and analyzing data preparing reports graphics and maps for: assessments briefs strategic plans business plans service line support medical staff planning ad hoc requests and feasibility studies. Maintains efforts to ensure accuracy and timely completion of projects.
Analyze strategic and operational opportunities within and across the THR system and its assets. These assignments will require the use of: hypothesis-based problem solving fact-based analysis financial modeling decision modeling scenario planning statistical analysis regressions analysis and other methods of quantitative analysis as needed to suit the specific problem at hand.
Gather key inputs for Strategy Briefs Recommendations and related Plans for the system and its entities (including system wide and service-line specific plans). Provide additional context and analysis that informs the team about forward growth rates by service line market system and geography.
Lead and engage in other ad-hoc analyses and information gathering / communications as needed to support the growth and development of the business and mission of THR. Maintain relevant training related to the role of an Analyst its tools processes and systems required for their job.
Effectively communicate at all times and disseminate market and competitive information in a concise and timely manner.
Work with strategy team members to design reports including periodic market and competitive reports which track key trends monitor and evaluate competitors highlight innovation opportunities and inform decision-making. Develop and incorporate additional inputs (3rd party research SG2 Advisory Board EIU and others) into periodic reporting. Work with strategy team to improve quality and usefulness of reporting over time. Regularly use THRs competitive intelligence databases.
Contribute to the development and optimization of key THR analytic tools and processes. Demonstrate proficiency in working on projects which include analyzing and tracking service line market sizes competitor shares competitor cost positions and growth rates.
