Quality Engineer Major UK Infrastructure Project (Sizewell C)
Location: Suffolk

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join one of the UKs most respected civil engineering contractors on a nationally significant infrastructure project in Suffolk.
This contractor has built its reputation on delivering large-scale earthworks remediation and enabling works across the UK. The business is known for doing things properly with a focus on technical excellence safety and quality rather than quick wins.
A Day in the Life
Your day starts on one of the most complex civil engineering sites in the country where precision and documentation matter as much as progress. Youll walk the site with engineers verifying compaction test results checking formation levels and ensuring works meet specification before sign-off.
Back in the site office youll review ITPs confirm hold points and liaise with the delivery and QA teams to make sure every test certificate and inspection record is complete. Youll be the person who ensures that when the client asks for proof its there.
Throughout the day youll work closely with engineers foremen and materials testing teams addressing NCRs recording corrective actions and keeping quality systems tight and auditable. Youll finish your day knowing that whats been built will pass any inspection because its been delivered right first time.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Prepare review and update ITPs check sheets and testing regimes for earthworks and civil operations.
Carry out inspections audits and verification testing including compaction density MCV grading and CBR testing.
Liaise with site teams to investigate and resolve NCRs ensuring corrective and preventive actions are completed.
Maintain complete and accurate records certificates and documentation for audits and handovers.
Support pre-start and progress meetings providing clear updates on quality performance and compliance.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
Requirements
HNC/Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
Experience as a Quality Engineer Section Engineer or QA/QC professional on large-scale civils or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of ITPs testing regimes compaction control and material compliance processes.
Solid practical knowledge of earthworks drainage and civils delivery.
Excellent attention to detail proactive approach and clear communication skills.
