Overview
A vocational nursing program in Sacramento CA is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Program Director to join their academic administration team. This role involves overseeing program development coordinating clinical and academic activities ensuring regulatory compliance and providing leadership in faculty and student development. The position requires approximately 50% teaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Plan develop manage update and evaluate all aspects of the nursing program
Prepare reports and documentation for BVNPT and other state requirements surveys and site visits
Report faculty terminations to BVNPT within required timelines
Develop and implement program policies and procedures
Oversee admissions student orientation and academic support
Build and maintain partnerships with clinical sites; evaluate sites for safety staffing and clinical objectives
Maintain clinical contracts and coordinate faculty assignments
Recruit hire orient and monitor faculty performance
Monitor quality of instruction participate in faculty reviews and strategic planning
Provide advising and support to students; ensure graduation and licensing requirements are met
Plan and implement Nursing Advisory Committee meetings
Maintain current knowledge of state regulations and vocational nursing standards
Qualifications
Required
Active California RN license
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)
Minimum 3 years RN experience with at least 1 year in teaching/supervision or 3 years in nursing administration/education within the last 5 years
Completed coursework in administration teaching or curriculum development
Preferred
3 years of leadership experience in nursing education
Experience as a Nursing Instructor in Vocational or Registered Nursing programs
Clinical instructor experience; MSN preferred
