About the job:
Advantra is partnering with an early-stage AI infrastructure startup in Santa Clara to hire a Security Software Architect / Principal Engineer / Sr. Principal Engineer to design and implement security features for multi-tenant AI networks.
About the role:
You will define and build security workflows for AI network switches and interconnects including Confidential Computing. You will collaborate with hardware firmware and software teams to protect data in transit and at rest mitigate security threats and integrate cryptographic and key management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Architect security features for AI network link protection ensuring confidentiality and integrity.
- Develop threat models and mitigation strategies for multi-tenant workloads.
- Define and implement cryptographic schemes including AES-GCM-256 and key derivation flows.
- Specify secure key management processes and master key handling.
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams for co-design across protocol transaction and data link layers.
- Define secure configuration requirements for switches and system registers.
- Enable Confidential Computing workflows including key programming in TEEs (Intel TDX SGX AMD SEV ARM CCA).
- Define error handling mechanisms for integrity check failures and malicious activity.
- Partner with external vendors standards bodies and internal teams to integrate security requirements.
Core requirements:
- 10 years in security software design and development.
- Deep expertise in security protocols and cryptography for multi-tenant environments.
- Experience designing security for hardware-based communication protocols.
- Strong understanding of TEEs and Confidential Computing frameworks.
- Knowledge of industry standards including SPDM TDISP and NIST cryptography recommendations.
- Familiarity with AI network switch architectures data paths and interconnect layers.
- Ability to perform detailed threat modeling and implement mitigation strategies.
- Experience with UALink stack accelerators and transaction layer protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration with hardware firmware and software teams.
Nice to have:
- Networking switch hardware experience.
- Familiarity with OCP network specifications.
- Experience with Network Operating Systems such as SONiC EoS NX-OS JunOS.
- Participation in security standards or industry conferences.
- Publications or recognized contributions in security design.
