Job Summary (List Format): Airbag Design Engineer
- Researches designs develops and tests airbag systems and related mechanical products for production vehicles.
- Utilizes engineering judgment and maintains thorough development history rather than making isolated decisions.
- Collaborates openly with cross-functional teams sharing and exposing work for review and improvement.
- Supports engineering validation and testing activities to ensure airbag systems deliver maximum safety and protection for customers.
- Analyzes customer design proposals specifications and manuals to evaluate feasibility cost and timelines.
- Assists drafters in developing structural designs using CAD and other engineering tools.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant safety standards and client-specific engineering approaches.
- Documents all design decisions and maintains comprehensive development records.
- Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills in developing creative and reliable airbag solutions.
- Offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on vehicle occupant safety through hands-on airbag design and testing.
