Trust Accounting Specialist
Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

Experience Level: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in trust accounting preferably within a law firm or legal services environment.
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Accounting Specialist for our client to assume responsibility for all aspects of trust accounting operations. The successful candidate will ensure that all client funds are managed in accordance with applicable laws regulations and professional standards. This position is instrumental in maintaining the integrity of client trust accounts and supporting the firms commitment to accurate and compliant financial practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full cycle of client trust accounting in compliance with state bar rules and internal control procedures.
- Record monitor and reconcile all trust-related financial activity including deposits disbursements and fund transfers.
- Prepare analyze and distribute trust balance statements for attorneys clients and firm management.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of trust accounts and promptly address any discrepancies identified.
- Collaborate with attorneys and administrative personnel to ensure the proper handling and safeguarding of client funds.
- Assist in responding to audits and regulatory examinations concerning trust account operations.
- Maintain compliance with IOLTA (Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts) requirements and related trust accounting obligations.
- Produce detailed financial and compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support with general accounting functions and special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal accounting software such as Elite Aderant or comparable platforms.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with the capacity to perform effectively in a dynamic professional setting.
