Job Summary:
This is a temp-to-perm Medical Assistant position in a primary care clinic. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting with patient care including taking vital signs preparing patients for exams administering injections collecting specimens and performing other related duties. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Location:Redmond Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Record patient history medications and allergies.
- Take vital signs including height weight pulse oximetry BP respiration temperature and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Administer immunizations intradermal and intramuscular injections.
- Collect capillary sputum stool and urine specimens and label specimens.
- Perform follow-up phone calls.
- Room patients.
- Review lab tests.
- Perform data entry into electronic medical database systems.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Answer unit phone and directs calls accordingly.
- Coordinate equipment/supply needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- MA-C or MA-R certification.
- For MA-Rs at least 6 months of related experience in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
- Knowledge of vital signs measurement (height weight pulse ox BP respiration temperature pulse).
- Ability to record patient history medications and allergies.
- Experience with injections (immunizations intradermal intramuscular).
- Specimen collection skills (capillary labeling specimens sputum stool UA).
- BLS certification
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- EPIC charting experience.
- Experience in an adult outpatient clinic setting.
- Strong acute inpatient experience.
Special Considerations:
- The position is a temp-to-perm opportunity and candidates must be open to converting to a permanent role.
- The facility may call off the traveler up to 1 shift per pay period (every 2 weeks).
- Candidate is expected to have reliable transportation and no additional scheduling restrictions.
Scheduling:
- 4x10hr shifts 0730-1800 (Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday).
- Wednesdays off no weekends.
- Clinic may be flexible to 5x8hr shifts to be discussed with the hiring manager.
