Position Overview
The client is seeking both contractors and full-time IT professionals to take on an IT Manager role. This position involves a mix of hands-on IT support and technical leadership responsibilities. The role is hybrid requiring a presence on-site in Fremont at least three days per week. Proximity to the office is critical as the business needs someone on-site for troubleshooting when required in addition to handling remote IT support. The role will support both their team of 20 full-time employees and various 1099 contractors/consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-on IT Support:
- Provide day-to-day IT support for employees and contractors both on-site and remotely.
- Address troubleshooting needs across hardware software and networking.
- IT Management & Leadership:
- Play a leadership role in managing the IT infrastructure and ensuring its scalability to support company operations and growth.
- Collaborate with the compliance manager to design and implement policies ensuring adherence to U.S. national security and compliance requirements.
- Provide technical oversight to part-time IT support personnel.
- Project Management:
- Build and optimize IT infrastructure to meet company needs and align with customer expectations.
- Work closely with potential customers on IT-related elements of projects.
Key Requirements:
- Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in AWS Cloud including managing infrastructure and datasets. AWS is a major component of this role.
- Understanding of compliance-heavy industries particularly in alignment with U.S. national security requirements.
- Technical leadership abilities and hands-on IT troubleshooting capabilities.
- Compliance and Security:
- Experience in compliance-heavy environments such as defense healthcare or financial services is highly preferred.
- Hybrid Work:
- On-site presence is critical for troubleshooting hands-on IT infrastructure support and leadership responsibilities.
Team and Reporting Structure:
- The IT Manager will report to the COO and co-founder who has both technical and IT expertise.
- The existing IT infrastructure is partially built out and operational; however this role will focus on scaling optimizing and ensuring compliance.
- The IT Manager will work closely with the compliance manager to drive policy implementation and infrastructure alignment with national security guidelines.
